Hammer Curl - Band - Girls

Position: Stand, back straight, feet flat on the floor, head neutral/still. Grip always with fingers and thumb around the handle.


Breathing: Exhale when you exert at the start of the exercise and inhale when returning to start position.


Start/Movement/Finish: Hold dumbbells at your side, palms to your body. Bend your elbows until the head of the dumbbell reaches the front of the shoulder; elbow remains down. Lower under control.


Variation: Alternate each arm. The key is to keep both dumbbells moving. Bend one arm to the top and as soon as it starts down, the other one starts up. Watch for too much backswing, the dumbbell going behind your leg, excessive shoulder swing, speeding up which breaks down technique, and not straightening the arms.
