S.L. Lateral Hops

Setup: Plenty of floor space.


Position: Standing


Movement: The athlete hops sideways/laterally to a one footed landing. The athlete should "stick" the landing, that is, land and hold a stable position before making the next hop. The next hop is then executed by pushing forcefully off the ground leg, laterally to the other leg, sticking the landing and repeating. Height is not an objective.


A variation is to hold a medicine ball in the takeoff side hand and shift it to the landing side just before ground contact.
